One thing I am currently wrestling with is the feeling that my life is a major side quest. In this season of my life, I have an unusually large amount of time, yet I must confess that I feel somewhat unfulfilled in some of the things I do in my personal time. If you were to ask what my hobbies are, I don't think I would be able to give a clear answer. I feel like the hobbies I used to have in the past were either self-glorifying or a complete waste of time.
I am not saying that I am completely dissatisfied with the Gospel itself. I do, in fact, find satisfaction in Him alone when I'm at church, in fellowship with other believers, and reading and praying through His Word. As Philippians 2:17 says, I desire for my life to be expended as a drink offering for the sake of building up the body of Christ. But I also feel that the Lord is calling me to work on something I can be passionate about. I think that, because we are made in the image of our Creator, we also possess the capacity and gift from the Lord to create things and bring them to life in various ways. I want to use my God-given creativity and writing to document and compartmenatlize anything new I discover in my daily walks of life or through immersing myself in the Word.
All praise to God! The Lord has been very gracious and good to me, allowing me to focus the majority of my time here at UCLA on my spiritual growth and the spiritual growth of others. I hope to work on this project as a way to, foremost:
- Glorify God in my writing.
- Encourage others to run the Christian race well.
Thanks for being willing to read this short blog! I look forward to resuming steadfastnguyen.com. In terms of logistics, I am working to rebuild this website from scratch.
